The Challenge

Xactly is a leading provider of enterprise-class, cloud-based, incentive compensation solutions for employee and sales performance management. Though they had worked with previous PPC agencies, they had issues with transparency and ROI. They reached out to Directive in order to improve net new leads per quarter for all digital channels, with emphasis on overall web traffic, organic traffic, and paid advertising.

The Solution: Laser focus on Third-Party Directories

Optimizing search engine market share for Xactly was the top priority. We were able to accomplish this by improving search engine visibility for target audiences at the bottom of the funnel. In order to generate qualified leads from these users, we focused on value-driven content on relevant, winnable terms, landing page testing on PPC platforms, and a laser focus on third-party directory optimization, specifically Capterra.

Step 1: Optimize Third-Party Directory Listings

By changing our Capterra’s Product Listing title from “Xactly Incent” to “Xactly Commissions Software” we were able to improve the quality of our traffic from users looking for a commissions management solution. Moving from a branded product title to a keyword driven title boosted pre-qualified clicks in Capterra from 245 to 341, a 39% increase within a month, which impacted the volume of qualified leads.

Step 2: Overhaul Landing Page

In order to increase Capterra conversion rates, we created an entirely new custom landing page utilizing a multistep form that promoted their Demo Video. This form update resulted in making this offer more convenient and compelling for users with high intent that were researching and comparing different solutions. We increased Xactly Capterra conversion volume from 21 in Quarter 2 to 98 in Quarter 3, a 336% increase.
